SENIOR ACCOUNTANTLocation: Watford, ONFull Time - On site Are you the accountant people trust to keep everything organized, accurate, and on track?

We're recruiting on behalf of an established and growing organization looking for a Senior Accountant who is comfortable working across multiple businesses and keeping complex accounting activities moving without losing sight of the details.

This opportunity is particularly well suited to an accounting professional who enjoys ownership, variety, and problem-solving. You'll be responsible for maintaining the financial health and accuracy of several entities while working closely with management, external professionals, and internal team members.

If you're someone who can move confidently from a reconciliation to a month-end close, spot inconsistencies before they become issues, and stay organized when several deadlines land at once, this could be a strong fit.

What You'll Own
  • Take charge of day-to-day and full-cycle accounting activities across several companies and related entities.
  • Build and finalize accurate financial statements for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting periods.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, intercompany balances, and other financial accounts, investigating discrepancies when they arise.
  • Maintain the general ledger and make sure month-end activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Contribute to financial planning through budgeting, forecasting, variance review, and financial analysis.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external accountants, auditors, banks, and other financial partners.
  • Keep a close eye on payables, receivables, payroll activity, and cash movements across the organization.
  • Help ensure accounting records and processes remain aligned with applicable standards, tax obligations, and internal requirements.
  • Maintain well-organized financial files and supporting documentation so information is accurate, complete, and easy to retrieve.
  • Look for practical ways to strengthen accounting procedures, improve efficiency, and enhance internal controls.
  • Prepare useful financial information for leadership and help translate accounting data into insights that support business decisions.
Required Skills and Experience

You'll likely be a strong match if you have:

  • Several years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a senior accounting or multi-company environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of the complete accounting cycle, from transaction processing through financial reporting.
  • A solid grasp of accounting standards, financial controls, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience working with accounting platforms and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous exposure to multiple entities, companies, divisions, or sets of books.
  • The ability to stay organized while balancing several priorities and deadlines at the same time.
  • A naturally analytical mindset with the confidence to investigate issues and find practical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills when working with both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.
  • The independence to manage your responsibilities without needing constant supervision.
  • A reliable and professional approach, particularly when working with confidential financial information and time-sensitive deliverables.
  • Familiarity with payroll, corporate tax requirements, and intercompany transactions is an advantage.
  • A CPA designation is welcome, although equivalent hands-on accounting experience will also be considered.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Work across multiple businesses and entities, giving you broader exposure than a traditional single-company accounting position.
  • Take meaningful ownership of financial processes and reporting.
  • Work alongside a collaborative team that values accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Use modern accounting systems and technology to support efficient financial operations.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business analysis.
  • Contribute ideas that can improve how financial processes and controls operate.
  • Develop your skills within an organization that offers room for long-term professional progression.
  • Build toward greater responsibility and leadership as the organization continues to grow.
  • Receive competitive compensation aligned with your experience and capabilities.
  • Enjoy the stability of a full-time position with opportunities for continued career development.
