What You'll DoAs a Mechanical Package Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective selection and implementation of mechanical equipment and packaged systems.
Technical Engineering & Equipment Management
- Interpret and implement client, industry, and Equinox specifications and standards.
- Specify, evaluate, and select gas processing equipment and packaged systems, including:
- Amine packages
- Dehydration packages
- Refrigeration systems
- Compressors
- Pumps
- Separators
- Flare systems
- Storage tanks
- Other auxiliary mechanical equipment
- Prepare equipment purchase packages, including material requisitions, technical specifications, and equipment datasheets.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations and provide recommendations for equipment selection.
- Review and provide technical feedback on vendor drawings, documents, and calculations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Manage equipment vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate vendor reviews, inspections, and quality surveillance activities.
- Support procurement activities by providing timely technical evaluations and recommendations.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure delivery expectations are achieved.
- Coordinate closely with Process, Piping, Instrumentation, Structural, Electrical, Procurement, and Project Management teams.
- Contribute to the development and review of P&IDs and other engineering deliverables.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions to support integrated project execution.
- Interface with both internal and external clients regarding packaged equipment requirements and technical matters.
- Ensure safety, environmental, and quality requirements are incorporated into equipment and package design.
- Verify that equipment solutions meet applicable industry codes, regulations, and project specifications.
- Support quality assurance processes throughout equipment design, procurement, and fabrication.
About YouYou are a motivated and technically capable engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. You bring:
- A Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation registered with APEGA.
- Minimum 8 years of oil and gas industry experience.
- Experience working within an EPCM environment.
- Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment.
- Experience developing specifications and technical requirements for packaged equipment.
- Proven ability to technically evaluate packaged and mechanical equipment solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective coordination and teamwork abilities.
- Strong understanding of applicable industry codes and standards, including:
- ASME
- API
- CSA
- ABSA
- Other relevant industry requirements
- Experience acting as a Mechanical Lead on small or fast-track projects.
- Gas processing facility experience.
- Experience supporting equipment procurement and vendor management activities.
- Familiarity with commissioning and start-up support.
