Responsibilities:
- Process weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees.
- Review timesheets, attendance records, and payroll data for accuracy and completeness.
- Calculate and process employee earnings, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Administer employee benefits, vacation pay, statutory holiday pay, and payroll adjustments.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports and registers.
- Ensure compliance with CRA requirements and Alberta Employment Standards.
- Process Record of Employment (ROE) forms and employment-related documentation.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain confidential employee payroll records and personal information.
- Assist with month-end reconciliations, payroll-related journal entries, and year-end activities including T4 preparation.
- Accounts Receivable collections.
- Weekly invoicing.
- Client account setup – credit checks.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of payroll administration experience.
- Working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and payroll best practices.
- Experience using payroll software such as Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, Payworks, UKG, or similar systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency in working with employee databases.
- Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or currently working toward certification in an asset.
- Basic accounting and reconciliation experience.
