Responsibilities:
- Prepare, draft, and revise family law documentation and court forms.
- Manage and maintain family law files throughout various stages of the legal process.
- File court documents and ensure compliance with applicable deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Coordinate and organize client files, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
- Communicate with lawyers, court personnel, clients, and third parties as required.
- Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with court and firm standards.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical records.
- Assist with document management and file organization within the firm's systems.
- Provide additional administrative and paralegal support as required during the assignment.
Requirements:
- 1 year + of paralegal experience, with a strong focus on family law.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage files with limited supervision.
- Understanding of family law processes, court procedures, and document preparation requirements.
- Experience preparing and filing legal documents with Alberta courts.
- Proficiency with CAMS, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
