Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist to support enterprise-level IT projects for the Ontario Government. The successful candidate will lead comprehensive testing activities across GUI and non-GUI environments, develop test strategies and automation, manage defects, and work closely with technical and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Cases, and automation scripts.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and UAT testing.
• Test workflow-driven applications, particularly IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW).
• Develop and execute automated tests using Selenium or equivalent tools.
• Perform REST/SOAP API testing, including authentication, responses, and error handling.
• Conduct backend/database testing using Oracle and PL/SQL.
• Perform data validation for migration projects, including mapping, transformation, and data integrity.
• Conduct AODA/WCAG accessibility testing for web applications and documents.
• Perform security, access-control, and user-permission testing.
• Test OpenText Content Management Systems, including metadata, workflows, version control, and permissions.
• Identify, reproduce, isolate, and troubleshoot defects and perform root-cause analysis.
• Manage the full defect lifecycle using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Support UAT coordination, defect triage, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
• Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience as a Systems Testing / QA Specialist on enterprise IT projects.
• Strong experience with QA methodologies, SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and sprint-based development.
• Hands-on experience creating Test Strategies, Plans, and detailed Test Cases.
• Strong experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans or similar tools.
• Experience with Selenium or equivalent test automation frameworks.
• Experience testing IBM BAW/BPM workflow applications.
• Strong API testing experience with REST and SOAP.
• Strong SQL/PL-SQL and backend database testing experience.
• Experience with data migration testing and validation.
• Experience with security/access-control testing.
• Experience with AODA/WCAG compliance testing.
• Experience testing OpenText Content Management Systems.
• Strong defect management and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Technical Environment

Experience with technologies such as IBM BAW/BPM, WebSphere, Oracle, PL/SQL, Java, JavaScript, XML, Selenium, Azure DevOps, Rational tools, and OpenText is highly desirable.

Work Arrangement

This position is fully onsite, 5 days per week, at 40 St. Clair Ave. W, Toronto.
