About THOAR Mining THOAR Mining provides comprehensive mining support services including Project Management, Construction, Maintenance, and Equipment Operation. We are currently hiring a Mine Technician / Surveyor for an immediate contract opportunity.
Position Overview
The Mine Technician / Surveyor will support underground mining operations through surveying, planning, data collection, and technical reporting. This role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical Services teams to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate mine development. The Position is located at one of the Potash Mine sites close to Saskatoon.
Responsibilities
- Support Mine Engineers with mine design and planning
- Collaborate with Mine Operations, Maintenance, and Technical Services
- Compile production statistics and prepare technical reports
- Perform mine surveying and maintain accurate survey control
- Conduct inspections and collect production, geotechnical, and operational data
- Participate in cross‑functional projects across the mine site
- Identify and manage operational, capital, and business improvement needs to support mine development and production
Requirements
- Diploma in Mining Engineering Technology or Mine Engineering Technology
- Minimum 3 years underground mining experience (preferred)
- Proficiency with mine planning software
- Strong Microsoft Office and data management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to lead and operate professionally within a team environment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operations and engineering teams
