Industrial Wood Coatings Paint Lab Technician

Richelieu Hardware is looking for a Industrial Wood Coatings Paint Lab Technician (or Color matching Specialist) for the Winnipeg branch

This person is responsible to handle all matters related to various types of coatings; including but not limited to stains, primers, pre-cat, post-cat, urethanes, and water-based products.

More specifically, the main responsibilities of the position are to:

· Custom Color Mixing proficiency

· Provide color matches services for customers – meeting rush requirements

· Maintain formula/recipe data base

· Support sales force with technical expertise and product application

· Strong wood finishing technical aptitude

· Familiar with viscometer, gloss meter, light box, film thickness meter, etc. for testing coating products

· Prepare samples

• Ability to lift to 50lbs.

· Responsible to maintain quality and safe work practices

Requirements :

· Strong knowledge of Woodcoatings Industry

· Aptitude for matching colors

· Good Color Vision

· High level of self-motivation, self-direction, and self-discipline

· Excellent written, verbal communication and strong inter-personal skills

· Good organizational and time management skills
