Job Title: Procurement Program Lead – Final Assembly Line

Job Description

The Procurement Program Lead supports the final assembly of a new aircraft program by driving procurement readiness, monitoring material availability, and enabling cross-functional alignment across production, planning, and supply chain teams. This role focuses on risk identification, data-driven insights, and communication with senior leadership to ensure schedule adherence and smooth supply flow, without direct purchasing or inventory control responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, monitor, and communicate procurement and material readiness risks that may impact production schedules and final assembly milestones.
  • Attend interdepartmental meetings, including demand planning and critical parts reviews, to represent procurement and share timely updates with directors and VP-level stakeholders.
  • Monitor production and material readiness data to proactively identify trends, gaps, and constraints that affect schedule adherence.
  • Flag high-risk items and recurring constraints to procurement leadership and relevant stakeholders, enabling prompt resolution.
  • Maintain and enhance visibility tools such as dashboards and trackers to support transparency across production, planning, procurement, and quality teams.
  • Act as a cross-functional liaison to facilitate communication between production, planning, procurement, and quality, ensuring alignment on shared priorities and timelines.
  • Support coordination of resolution efforts related to part availability, while respecting union boundaries and not assigning or directing tasks to unionized employees.
  • Participate in planning and readiness meetings to gather insights, consolidate information, and share procurement-related updates that influence material availability and scheduling.
  • Document systemic issues impacting supply flow and contribute to root cause analysis sessions focused on improving procurement-related workflows.
  • Recommend and support workflow improvements to cross-functional processes that affect procurement cycle times and material readiness.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation of procurement procedures, tools, escalation paths, and communication protocols.
  • Interpret planning documents and material availability reports to provide clear, data-driven insights on production and inventory metrics to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to VP-level stakeholders, summarizing procurement risks, material readiness, and recommendations for mitigating schedule impacts.
  • Collaborate effectively across departments without formal authority, influencing outcomes through strong communication, data interpretation, and relationship-building.
  • Support reporting activities by compiling, analyzing, and presenting procurement and supply chain data using Excel and other reporting tools.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in procurement, specifically purchasing engineered equipment.
  • At least 2+ years of experience presenting in front of VP-level stakeholders, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with data monitoring, tracking, and compiling results within procurement or supply chain processes.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in production manufacturing support, supply chain coordination, or program analysis roles.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with scheduling procurement activities and understanding their impact on production timelines.
  • Experience working with large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, IFS, or D365.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Strong data interpretation skills, particularly relating to production, inventory, and material readiness metrics.
  • Ability to interpret planning documents and material availability reports to support decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally without formal authority or direct supervision of others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in procurement management, vendor management, and reporting in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when tracking data and maintaining documentation.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certification or coursework in supply chain management or business analytics is an asset.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Understanding of change management and communication best practices.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence and reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and maintain composure while addressing critical material or schedule issues.
  • Experience with buyer purchasing activities, purchase order processes, and procurement operations is beneficial.
  • Background in negotiation, vendor management, and supply chain planning is an asset.
  • Familiarity with data entry best practices and maintaining accurate procurement records.
  • Interest in career growth across manufacturing and aftermarket operations within a rapidly growing organization.
