Job Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Assembler to join our client's manufacturing team in Etobicoke, Ontario. This is a temporary, full-time position with the possibility of extension or permanent placement based on performance and business needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical wiring, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and equipment. This position is ideal for an Electrical Technician or Electrical Assembler with hands-on experience wiring machines, control panels, and electrical control systems.
Duties
- Wire and electrically assemble industrial machinery according to electrical drawings and schematics
- Perform point-to-point wiring of machines, control panels, and electrical components
- Install and connect motors, sensors, switches, relays, contactors, solenoids, actuators, terminal blocks, and other electrical components
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and machine drawings
- Route, cut, strip, crimp, terminate, and label electrical wires and cables
- Build and wire electrical control panels
- Install electrical components and wiring throughout machinery and equipment
- Connect field devices, motors, sensors, and control components to control panels
- Perform continuity checks, electrical testing, and functional testing of completed machines
- Troubleshoot wiring issues, control circuits, and electrical components
- Identify wiring errors and make corrections based on electrical drawings
- Assist with machine start-up, testing, and commissioning when required
- Use electrical hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and other testing equipment
- Maintain organized wiring, proper cable routing, and professional workmanship
- Follow electrical safety procedures, workplace safety regulations, and company standards
- Work closely with Mechanical Technicians, Engineers, and other production team members
- Complete electrical work accurately while meeting production schedules and deadlines
Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of hands-on electrical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience wiring industrial machinery, automated equipment, or production equipment
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience with control panels and machine electrical systems
- Knowledge of motors, sensors, relays, contactors, switches, and other industrial electrical components
- Experience with wire termination, crimping, cable routing, and electrical connections
- Ability to use a multimeter and basic electrical testing equipment
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools
- Ability to follow detailed drawings and technical instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Controls training is an asset
- Previous experience with automation or industrial machinery is an asset
Work Environment & Conditions
- On-site at the client's manufacturing facility in Etobicoke, Ontario
- Monday to Friday, day shift
- Full-time hours
- Requires standing for extended periods and working around machinery
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required
- PPE and basic tools provided by the employer or agency
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Electrical Technician who enjoys building and wiring machinery. You should be comfortable working from electrical schematics, installing components, performing machine wiring, testing electrical systems, and troubleshooting issues.
Experience with industrial equipment, automated machinery, control panels, machine builders, HVAC equipment, or manufacturing equipment is highly preferred.
