Lead Teacher - Senior Preschool | West 85th Campus

Fueling Brains Academy is hiring two Lead Teachers for our Senior Preschool Program at West 85th in Calgary.

We are currently hiring for:

1. Lead Teacher – Left Brain | Jumping Junipers
Best suited to an educator who enjoys structured, intentional and Montessori-inspired learning, with a focus on independence, concentration, early literacy and numeracy, problem-solving, practical learning and Kindergarten readiness.

2. Lead Teacher – Movement | Roaring Redwoods
Best suited to an educator who enjoys physical literacy, gross-motor development and active learning. You will use purposeful movement, games and physical activities to build children's coordination, confidence, self-regulation and executive functioning. This classroom works closely with our certified Kindergarten Teacher and supports children approximately 4.5–6 years old.

THE ROLE:

As a Lead Teacher, you will take ownership of your classroom, plan and implement meaningful learning experiences, guide the educators working alongside you and create a safe, engaging environment where children can learn and grow.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead your homeroom and take ownership of the daily classroom program.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Create lesson plans aligned with Fueling Brains' curriculum and your classroom focus.
• Observe and document children's learning and development.
• Support children's independence, self-regulation, confidence and Kindergarten readiness.
• Adapt programming based on children's individual needs and interests.
• Mentor and guide educators working within your classroom.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate children's progress.
• Maintain a safe classroom and follow Alberta licensing, ratio and supervision requirements.
• Collaborate with educators and campus leadership.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Required:

• Alberta Level 3 ECE Certification.
• Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related recognized program.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with preschool and/or Kindergarten-aged children in a licensed Canadian childcare or early learning environment.
• Experience planning and implementing early childhood curriculum.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Confidence taking ownership of a classroom and guiding other educators.

For Left Brain, we'd especially love to see:

• Montessori or Montessori-inspired experience.
• Early literacy, numeracy, practical life or school-readiness programming.
• Experience creating structured and intentional learning environments.

For Movement, we'd especially love to see:

• Physical literacy, gross-motor or active-learning experience.
• Sports, dance, yoga, recreation or children's movement programming.
• Experience working with older preschool/Kindergarten-aged children.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
• Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe.
• Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
