Position Overview: Our client, a leading Manitoba-based technology solutions provider, is seeking a Network & Security Solutions Architect to join their dynamic technical team. Reporting to the Manager, this role focuses on network architecture, cybersecurity, and infrastructure implementation across enterprise environments. You will work closely with clients, project managers, and senior architects to design, deploy, and maintain high-performing, secure IT systems.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to contribute to High-Level and Low-Level solution designs for network, wireless, security, and cloud environments.
- Implement, configure, and maintain networking, cybersecurity, server, and cloud infrastructure aligned with approved project designs.
- Conduct infrastructure assessments, vulnerability reviews, firewall policy audits, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide high-level troubleshooting, system optimization, and technical support to maximize environment reliability and performance.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, execute proof-of-concept testing, and deliver strategic recommendations for continuous system enhancement.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation, architecture diagrams, implementation logs, and client assessment reports.
- Interface directly with clients and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 2–3+ years of experience in network administration, cybersecurity, or IT infrastructure consulting.
- Active networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) or security-focused credentials.
- Proven hands-on expertise with Cisco/Meraki switching, routing, and wireless solutions, alongside enterprise firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, or Check Point).
- Strong experience in Windows Server administration and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM).
- Familiarity with network monitoring solutions (PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix) and technical documentation development (HLDs/LLDs).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, M365), and Aruba/HPE networking is considered a strong asset.
- Strong communication skills, self-directed time management, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel locally as needed.
