Vickar Autobody & Glass is currently looking for an Autobody Paint Prep Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Autobody Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicles and components for refinishing while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.

Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles and components for paint by sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming surfaces
- Review repair orders and work closely with Autobody Technicians and Painters to ensure efficient workflow
- Remove trim, moldings, and accessories as required for refinishing
- Clean repaired areas and apply fillers and primers as necessary
- Perform final surface inspections prior to painting
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Properly use and maintain all shop tools and equipment
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators
- Handle paints, primers, solvents, and other hazardous materials in compliance with applicable regulations
- Assist fellow team members in achieving productivity and quality goals
- Complete assigned work within established timelines
- Two (2) years minimum previous experience in an autobody paint preparation or related role
- Knowledge of sanding, masking, priming, and paint preparation techniques
- Familiarity with autobody repair and refinishing processes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Valid driver's license
