Edmonton Valve & Fitting (Swagelok Edmonton) is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Shipper/Receiver to become a vital part of warehouse operations. Main responsibilities will include day-to-day organization, preparation, and shipment of tubing and related materials. This role will support warehouse operations by handling and managing inventory through shipping and receiving processes and ensuring on-time order fulfillment. Responsibilities
- Pick, organize, and pack tubing orders according to work order requirements.
- Prepare tubing and related products for shipment, ensuring orders are properly packaged, labelled, and ready for pickup or delivery.
- Enter shipping details into the system accurately and arrange transport or pick-ups.
- Monitor inventory with regular cycle counts, restock crates and storage areas with tubing to maintain an organized and accessible inventory.
- Check available stock of tubing, caps, and other related materials and report damaged materials, inventory shortages, equipment concerns, or other issues to management.
- Assist with cutting insulated tubing as required.
- Help load courier vehicles and other deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Prepare and call in customer or supplier orders as required.
- Assist with receiving incoming materials, ensuring shipping documentation is complete and products are placed in the appropriate storage areas.
- Break down old tubing cores and dispose of them in the designated garbage or recycling area.
- Monitor propane levels and notify supervisor when propane is running low.
- Keep shipping, receiving, tubing bays, and surrounding work areas clean, organized, and free of unnecessary debris.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Assist other team members with warehouse and production-related tasks as required.
- Process product returns promptly, collaborating with customer service when needed.
- Communicate professionally with customers, sales representatives, and Swagelok team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of shipping, receiving, or materials handling experience.
- Highschool diploma.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds without assistance
- Basic computer experience with ability to learn in-house system
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience with valves, fittings, industrial products, or technical sales is an asset.
- Ability work under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to learn and adapt
