ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Production Planning Coordinator supports the Master Production Schedule (MPS) by coordinating restoration activities, parts movement, quality inspections, and production priorities across multiple shop areas. Working closely with Production, Procurement, Stores, Quality Assurance, Material Handling teams, and the Client, this role helps ensure materials and work progress efficiently to meet production deadlines. The position also provides administrative support for internal rework tracking through the Ontario Northland Liability Material Exception Form (ONRL MEF) process and assists the Production Planning Manager with planning and reporting activities.
MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate restoration, refurbishment, and parts movement activities across the Remanufacturing and Repair Centre to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
- Monitor availability of reconditioned and replacement parts and coordinate required repair, paint, or refurbishment work.
- Liaise with Production, Procurement, Stores, Fabrication, Paint, and Material Handling teams to ensure timely part delivery.
- Track parts status, follow up on deliveries, expedite shortages, and escalate production risks or delays.
- Coordinate sub-assemblies and ensure parts are available according to production requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure parts are completed to specifications and delivered on schedule.
- Provide administrative and system support to Production Supervisors, including parts ordering, returns processing, and task management in the RRP system.
- Audit and maintain data integrity within RRP, including production, labour, quality, and inventory transactions.
- Support Inspection Test Plan (ITP) compliance, stock return governance, and production reporting activities.
- Assist with internal rework tracking through the Ontario Northland Liability Material Exception Form (ONRL MEF) process.
- Support continuous improvement, ERP/EAM initiatives, and process enhancement projects across the Remanufacturing and Repair Centre.
- Ensure planning activities, documentation, and reporting comply with ISO 9001 requirements.
- College Diploma in Business Administration, Project Management, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), and/or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certifications are considered assets
- Minimum 1 year of related experience in a production, manufacturing, supply chain, or logistics environment, including data entry, data management, and report generation
- 1-2 years of planning or production scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Rail industry knowledge is considered an asset
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Solid understanding of databases and business systems such as AS400, ERP, EAM, Oracle, and SAP
- Experience using SharePoint, Intelex, or similar information management systems is an asset
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Demonstrated problem-solving, continuous improvement, and process optimization abilities
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work effectively under pressure, and contribute positively within a team
- Valid Class G driver's license is considered an asset
