Receptionist / Studio Coordinator

Arthur Murray Dance Center Halifax is seeking a full-time Receptionist / Studio Coordinator to manage front desk operations and deliver exceptional customer service. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for students, manage schedules, process administrative tasks, and support our energetic studio environment. Evening availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome students and guests as they arrive at the studio
• Answer incoming phone calls, respond to emails, and handle general inquiries
• Inform prospective students about dance programs, wedding dance packages, and private lessons
• Schedule lessons, manage instructor calendars, and book student appointments
• Process student registrations, payments, and account updates accurately
• Maintain current class schedules, studio calendars, and student files
• Communicate with students regarding upcoming lessons, group classes, and studio events
• Assist dance instructors and management with daily administrative tasks
• Help coordinate practice parties, studio showcases, and special events
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk reception area
• Build positive relationships with students to support student retention
• Foster an energetic, positive, and hospitable environment throughout the facility

Qualifications

• Previous experience in reception, customer service, front desk administration, hospitality, or sales preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational abilities with high attention to detail
• Customer-service focused mindset with a positive and professional demeanor
• Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment
• Proficiency with Mac software, computer systems, and ability to learn studio management software
• Ability to work required evening shifts
• Interest or background in dance, fitness, or performing arts is an asset but not required
