Description
The Business Development Representative is a highly motivated, knowledgeable professional responsible for growing Classic Fire + Life Safety's client base across Southwestern Ontario, from Windsor through Niagara Falls. This role develops relationships with existing clients while targeting new clients and projects within strategic markets to expand the construction portfolio. The successful candidate is a proven self-starter who can generate qualified quotation opportunities, build strong industry relationships, and secure new business. This job description is intended as a guideline and may not include every function of the role.
Tasks & Responsibilities
The Business Development Representative is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Business Development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Generate new leads, identify and engage key decision-makers, qualify potential business opportunities, and support route-to-market strategies across the assigned territory
- Develop and strengthen relationships with high-value existing clients while identifying new quotation and project opportunities
- Work with the Director of Business Development, Branch Directors and Estimating teams to develop market-entry strategies for priority sectors, accounts, and geographies.
- Support the estimating teams with opportunity qualification, client meetings, follow-up, and closing activities as required
- Continuously evaluate client needs, construction activity and industry trends, to identify opportunities and strengthen Classic's market position
- Work with construction leadership and marketing to develop client-focused presentations, capability materials, and other sales collateral
- Represent Classic at targeted industry events, association meetings, trade shows, and networking opportunities
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in B2B sales or business development
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the fire protection industry
- Proven experience in client relationship management and fire protection sales
- Strong problem-solving skills in a B2B environment
- Highly effective communicator with a strong focus on building client relationships
- Ability to think strategically and develop new business initiatives
- Outgoing, proactive, and self-motivated
- Collaborative team player who works effectively across departments
- Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced, multifaceted role
- Strong knowledge of the fire protection construction process
- Knowledge of leading general contractors and industrial stakeholders across Southwestern Ontario
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through
