Position Summary
Morskate Manufacturing is expanding in a big way! We're adding 90,000+ sq. ft. to our facility and investing in exciting new technology as we continue to grow. With this expansion comes an exciting opportunity—we are actively recruiting a motivated Junior Field Technician to join Agmor – our Agricultural division.
Reporting to the Agmor Manager, you will assist with the installation, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of agricultural systems and equipment such as gating, fencing, stalls, cow comfort systems, feed delivery systems, and ventilation components. Working under the guidance of experienced technicians, you will develop your technical skills while supporting projects at various farm sites. This role involves working outdoors in changing weather conditions and may require travel and overnight stays depending on project location.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation and servicing of a variety of agricultural equipment and systems (e.g. barn ventilation, gating, stalls, feed systems, cow mats)
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation instructions
- Safely operate and maintain hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and saws
- Perform measurements and layout work using Metric and Imperial units under supervision
- Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing materials and equipment
- Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and skid steers when properly trained and authorized
- Work safely at heights and in confined spaces while following established safety procedures
- Report installation or mechanical concerns to senior team members
- Communicate project progress and site concerns with supervisors
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Requirements/Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in agricultural equipment installation, construction, mechanical service, or a related field (agricultural background preferred)
- Basic mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn installation techniques
- Ability to read or learn to interpret technical drawings and installation manuals
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work on feet for extended periods
- Willing and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including travel and overnights when needed
- Strong willingness to learn, follow direction, and work as part of a team
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Clear communication skills in English (spoken and written)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (Class 1 or 3 an asset)
- Equipment certifications (e.g. forklift, skid steer, aerial lift) are an asset or willingness to obtain

We offer competitive starting wages beginning at $23 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience, skill level, and how well you align with the role.
