Term of Appt: Nov 16.26 - Jan 29.27 (12-15 hrs/wk)Start date: November 2026Location: Fort St. John BCReporting to: Dean of Health Sciences & Human Services Salary:$45.60 - $56.75/hour, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits on regular earnings, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day. Employees are also eligible to contribute to the College Pension Plan, with matching contributions from the employer.Description:Northern Lights College's Practical Nursing Program is seeking a temporary, part-time instructor to deliver PNUR 245 Lab. This course emphasizes the development of nursing skills aimed at promoting health and healing with individuals experiencing acute health challenges across the lifespan. A variety of approaches (eg. simulation) will help learners build on theory and practice from Levels A and 3 (APN program) or Level 1, 2, and 3 (PN program) to integrate new knowledge and skills relevant to the acute care setting.Schedule:Mon-Wed-Fri, occasional Tues or Thurs.As a member of the Health Sciences Department, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive instructional team. You are expected to pursue excellence in teaching by incorporating diverse instructional strategies and fostering a learning environment rooted in inquiry, reflection, and evidence-informed practice.Qualifications: Required:Completion of an accredited Diploma in Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.Current practicing license as an LPN, RPN, RN or NP with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives with no limits or conditions or another relevant professional license.Minimum three to five years (full-time equivalent) of recent Canadian nursing experience.Completed course work in Indigenous cultural safety and humility.Ability to function effectively as a team member.Committed to student motivation and achievement.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Preferred:Teaching experience as a nurse or health care professional.A credential in adult education, such as the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or equivalent, or a willingness to enroll with an identified completion date.We thank all applicants for their interest in employment with NLC, however; only those contacted for an interview will be acknowledged.
