Job Title: Corporate Controller

Salary: $125,000 - $165,000

Overview We are currently recruiting on behalf of a long-standing leader in specialized heavy equipment and industrial machinery distribution seeking an experienced Corporate Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, this key leadership position oversees all core accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and corporate compliance. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic business partner to operational leaders, driving process improvements, strengthening governance, and managing financial systems across a multi-location, inventory-heavy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all day-to-day accounting operations, general ledger activities, transactional workflows, banking, and monthly/annual close cycles
- Prepare, review, and analyze consolidated financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and executive management reporting
- Oversee financial mechanics for capital asset transactions, equipment rental fleets, inventory valuation, fixed assets, and parts/service accounting
- Partner with the CFO on cash flow management, credit facilities, budgeting, forecasting, and key performance metric tracking
- Serve as the functional lead for ERP systems, championing workflow automation, financial software improvements, and internal controls
- Coordinate external audit processes, regulatory reporting, corporate tax, and risk management programs across all operating divisions
- Mentor, manage, and scale the internal accounting team, establishing performance benchmarks and supporting professional development
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive financial management experience, with proven success in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
- Strong industry background within heavy machinery, equipment rental/dealership, industrial distribution, or specialized manufacturing
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; a CPA, CMA, or MBA is strongly preferred
- Deep expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, complex inventory management, and multi-location operations
- Advanced proficiency with enterprise ERP platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar) and MS Excel
- Demonstrated leadership capability with a continuous-improvement mindset and excellent executive communication skills
Compensation
- $125,000 - $165,000 annually, plus comprehensive health, medical, and dental benefits package
