Who we are

At illumin, we are transforming the advertising landscape. Our platform offers an integrated space for journey planning, execution, and reporting. It empowers marketers to connect with their audiences in powerful ways through real-time data and easy-to-use visual tools. By seamlessly combining media planning and buying in an intuitive interface, marketers can take complete control of their campaigns, meeting customers wherever they are in the buying journey and maximizing the impact of their ad spend through personalized insights for smarter decision-making.

We are at a pivotal moment, evolving into a product-led company with a team of over 100 skilled professionals and new leadership guiding our path forward. By harnessing the power of data, advancing our AI capabilities, and deeply investing in our people, we are preparing for a future that will redefine what's possible in journey advertising.

Our work is guided by two beliefs: that the ability to execute is paramount to success and that we are only as good as our people. As we grow and transform, we are looking for team members (illumineers) who share our bias for speed, delivery over perfection, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Joining us now is a chance to be part of our transformation.

Who we need

Reporting to the CFO, we are hiring a Procurement Lead to own procurement across illumin, with a primary focus on SaaS, software, technology services, hardware, and other corporate vendors. You will take ownership of the full procurement lifecycle, driving cost optimization and strong commercial outcomes through strategic sourcing, negotiation, vendor consolidation, licence optimization, and disciplined vendor management. As a hands-on individual contributor, you will partner across the organization to strengthen purchasing decisions, secure favourable commercial terms, identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary spend, and ensure illumin receives maximum value from its vendor relationships.

This is a full-time, hybrid position, working in our Toronto office three days per week.

What's in it for you

Ownership and impact. You will own procurement across the organization, with a primary focus on SaaS, software, technology services, hardware, and other corporate vendors. You will have the autonomy to research alternatives, negotiate commercial terms, consolidate vendors, optimize licences, and identify meaningful savings. Your work will directly influence how illumin manages technology investments and vendor spend.

Influence and exposure. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will have visibility into procurement priorities and purchasing decisions across the business. You will partner with Finance, IT, Security, Legal, HR, Marketing, and business leaders, bringing your procurement expertise and commercial perspective to decisions that improve cost efficiency and strengthen the value illumin receives from its vendor relationships.

Professional growth. At illumin, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries to improve and reach our full potential, both as individuals and as a company. You will deepen your expertise in technology procurement while expanding your exposure across the business. You will also have the opportunity to strengthen procurement policies, workflows, controls, and tools, helping shape a more disciplined and scalable approach to procurement.

How you will make an impact:

  • Own the procurement lifecycle. You will lead procurement from sourcing and vendor evaluation through negotiation, contracting, renewal, and termination, with a primary focus on SaaS, software, technology services, hardware, and other corporate vendors. You will partner with Finance, IT, Security, Legal, HR, Marketing, and business leaders to understand requirements and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Drive cost optimization. You will identify and deliver meaningful savings through negotiation, vendor consolidation, licence optimization, and the elimination of unnecessary spend. You will advocate for illumin's best interests in vendor discussions, securing strong pricing, terms, and commercial outcomes.
  • Strengthen purchasing decisions. You will research technologies, pricing models, competitors, and market alternatives to inform procurement decisions and strengthen your position in vendor negotiations. You will bring together market insight, spend data, and business requirements to identify opportunities and ensure illumin is getting the right value from its investments.
  • Manage vendors and contracts. You will oversee contracts, renewals, and vendor performance, ensuring agreements continue to meet business needs and deliver expected value. You will maintain visibility into upcoming renewals, monitor vendor performance, and proactively identify opportunities to renegotiate, consolidate, or make changes.
  • Improve procurement processes. You will review and strengthen procurement policies, workflows, controls, reporting, and tools, including ServiceNow. You will help create a more disciplined, efficient, and transparent approach to procurement while supporting effective vendor management across the organization.

What you bring:

  • The procurement experience. You have deep procurement experience, including significant exposure to SaaS, software, technology services, and hardware. You have managed procurement activities across the lifecycle, from sourcing and vendor evaluation through negotiation, contracting, renewals, and ongoing vendor management.
  • The commercial mindset. You have a proven track record of achieving meaningful cost savings and securing strong commercial terms. You know how to identify opportunities for vendor consolidation, licence optimization, and spend reduction, and you are confident leading negotiations that balance cost, value, and business needs.
  • The technical aptitude. You can quickly understand software, technology services, licensing models, pricing structures, and market alternatives. You are comfortable researching technologies, vendors, and competitors, analyzing your options, and using those insights to strengthen purchasing decisions and negotiations. Experience with ServiceNow Procurement and Sourcing Operations is an asset.
  • The judgment and initiative. You bring strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills and can confidently assess options, make recommendations, and move work forward. You are organized and comfortable managing competing priorities, operating independently, and taking ownership of your deliverables.
  • The interpersonal skills. You are a clear and confident communicator who can build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and partners across Finance, IT, Security, Legal, HR, Marketing, and other areas of the business. You can understand different priorities, ask thoughtful questions, advocate for strong commercial outcomes, and bring stakeholders together around procurement decisions.
