Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Sr. Reporting Business Intelligence Analyst bridges Finance and IT to drive enterprise-wide data analysis, KPI tracking, and business intelligence reporting. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining robust reporting packages, optimizing data integration pipelines, and modernizing business intelligence tools. You will ensure high data accuracy, security, and service delivery while serving as a trusted analytical partner to leadership.
- BI & Report Development: Author, optimize, and deploy operational and analytical reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- ETL & Data Integration: Design, build, and maintain SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages for data extraction, transformation, loading, and batch processes.
- Financial & Operational Reporting: Generate core financial reconciliation documents for banking and Finance, as well as specialized financial output (e.g., benefit check runs, Explanation of Benefits reports).
- Data Engineering & Analysis: Write complex T-SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and ad-hoc data loads to support end-user requests across cross-functional departments.
- System & BI Modernization: Evaluate and recommend modern BI suites, software, and analytics techniques to elevate reporting architecture.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with IT and business units to translate complex operational needs into actionable technical recommendations.
- Experience: 3+ years of dedicated BI, data analysis, and KPI-tracking experience.
- Reporting & ETL Stack: Hands-on mastery of SSRS (report design, matrix layout, subscriptions) and SSIS (ETL pipeline creation, deployment, scheduling).
- Database & SQL: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS, T-SQL query optimization, and Visual Studio.
- Advanced Excel: Expert-level skills in MS Excel, including dynamic formulas, macros/VBA, pivot tables, and complex data modeling.
- Infrastructure: 3+ years of experience working with Windows Server environments (Win Server 2012/2016+).
- Industry & Tools: Familiarity with health/medical benefit plans, financial reporting standards, or ERP/reporting systems (e.g., Crystal Reports, IIS, Dynamics GP/Great Plains) is strongly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- Analytical & Critical Thinking: Exceptional mathematical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex datasets and turn them into clear business insights.
- Detail-Oriented & Meticulous: High precision in verifying financial and operational data integrity.
- Proactive Self-Starter: Ability to take ownership of projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal English communication skills to partner effectively with both technical developers and business executives.
