Position Summary
The Winter 2027 Co-op Student will work closely with other Students, Accounting Technicians, Senior Accountants, Managers/Associates, and Partners to support a variety of client engagements during our busy tax season.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
- Complete client bookkeeping and assist with compliance-related financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of working papers for compilation and review engagement files.
- Learn and utilize accounting and bookkeeping software applications.
- Develop an understanding of accounting, taxation, client service processes, and when to seek guidance from team members.
- Communicate professionally with team members and clients.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client and firm matters.
Qualifications & Other Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Accounting, Business, Commerce, or related program.
- Interested in pursuing the CPA designation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Previous accounting-related work, volunteer, or co-op experience is considered an asset but is not required.
Expected Compensation Range
- $39,000 - $49,000 annually
- Compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate's academic term, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and overall suitability for the position.
