Responsibilities:Develop systems and interfaces to control complex motionsLearn and apply LabVIEW and C++ visual software and PLC programmingWork as a team with automation teamData collection and managementSupport R&D projectsDesign and integrate new automated work cellsBuild, service, maintain, repair, install and test new or existing common controls and sensor including PLCs, HMIs, press controls and robotic systemsTroubleshoot and repair I/O logic circuits and devices, including mechanical, infrared, laser and inductive sensors, hydraulic systemsBuild, troubleshoot and repair electrical panels utilizing relay and programmable logic circuitryWrite advanced programs for PLC logic and/or robot controllers and make modifications as the process requiresEnsure that the delivery on all projects is to the appropriate levels of quality, engineering level, on time and within budgetCarry out preventative maintenance activitiesCoordinate activities apprentices, helpers and assigned contractorsPerform related mechanical/electrical duties as requiredAssist with the preparation of quotations and job costingPrepare and maintain applicable documentationElectrical drawings, procedures, maintenance logsAble to complete hands on work requiring heavy liftingSupport and participate in all continuous improvement projectsLiaison with internal and external customersOther duties as requiredKey Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent and C of QPost-secondary education in an electronics/programming related field7+ years experience with working knowledge of press/die processesAdditional Technical and Professional Requirements:Electronics knowledgeWorking knowledge of press/die processesExcellent problem solving abilitiesProgramming experienceSiemens TIZ Portal, Omron Sysmac StudioKnowledge of logic systems (AB-SLC etc.)Willing to work overtime as neededExcellent people and communication skills Marwood is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive company culture.
