Canlan Sports is currently looking for a Retail Coordinator for our North York Head Office!

Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000

Job Summary

The Retail Coordinator is a National support role, to the retail division of Canlan. Reporting to the Director Retail, this role will assist in both Food and Beverage and Sport Shop operations.

Accountabilities

The Retail Coordinator will work closely with Sport Shop Supervisors, Food and Beverage Operations and the Director Retail in all aspects of our retail Operations and Purchasing including but not limited to:

Retail/Food and Beverage

  • Ensuring that suggested manufactures retail pricing is upheld in all the sports shops
  • Maintaining approved par levels in each store
  • Assisting Director of Retail for annual booking orders
  • Inventory controls & processes and inventory levels for both Food and Beverage and Sport Shop operations
  • Maintaining established inventories in each store to ensure we maintain liquidity in our stock based on inventory targets set by Director of Retail for each store
  • Entering SKU's into Shift 4 and Yellow Dog
  • Assisting the Director of Retail in completing annual OSV as needed
  • Assist the Director in Retail in training in the following:
  • Food and Beverage Managers, Sport Shop Supervisors and developing SOJT's
  • Promotions (monthly events calendar, customer engagement activations)
  • Coordinate menu design, printing allotment
  • Sales
  • Customer Service
  • Skate sharpening training
  • Merchandizing – need to standardize between stores
  • Assisting in the buying for apparel, prizes, uniforms and Store Inventories
  • Updating SOP's and training materials annually
  • Involvement in all retail Hiring and On-boarding processes
  • POS trouble shooting and support
  • Yellow Dog project lead and subject matter expert
  • Training current and new Managers for Shift 4 POS and Yellow Dog Inventory Management system
  • Reviewing Secret Shopper reports and follow up with Director of Retail
  • Reviewing Steritech reports and follow up with Director of Retail
  • Maintaining approved par levels for each restaurant
  • Work with facilities on roll-out of Shift 4 enhancements

The role will work closely with the Director Retail to provide leadership, counsel, advice and assistance to facility retail operations; utilizing knowledge of retail operations and staff resources in order to impact and improve sales, profits, and operating standards while protecting the integrity of the Canlan brand. Supports each operating unit in delivering on their Annual Operating Plans by improving turn rates, improving buying practices and providing outstanding customer and selling service. This individual will assist in providing ongoing training and support for Retail Managers.

Qualifications, Experience and Education

  • College or Trade School Certificate or University Degree in hospitality or Retail management or a related field
  • Food and Beverage experience (Management experience is an asset)
  • Retail management
  • Strategic & operations orientation
  • 1-2 years Retail business experience and/or Food and Beverage, preferably in a regional or national franchise chain
  • Entrepreneurial sales & business development skills (in a sports / recreational environment)
  • Strong established customer and client focus
  • Experience with the technical aspects of retail store, an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines and organizational requirements effectively.
  • Self-motivated, professional, and flexible; able to work both independently and as part of a team.
