Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Courier Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Dartmouth courier team, ensuring efficient delivery processes and excellent customer service. The Courier Supervisor will manage a team of 12 or more drivers, monitor performance metrics, ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), and complete a variety of operational tasks to support smooth and timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on team leadership, operational performance, safety, and logistics management.

Team Management and Supervision
- Oversee the daily operations of the Dartmouth courier team, ensuring all drivers remain on schedule and deliveries are completed efficiently.
- Supervise and support drivers, providing guidance and direction as needed to maintain high levels of productivity and quality.
- Address driver issues and concerns in real time, providing solutions to challenges that arise on the road.
- Conduct daily pre-departure meetings with the courier team to communicate operational details clearly.
- Approve timecards and manage driver attendance and schedules.
- Conduct disciplinary meetings as needed to address performance or behavioural issues.
Operations and Route Management
- Ensure all delivery routes are at full capacity and, when necessary, flex freight to neighbouring routes to optimize efficiency.
- Conduct scheduled route rides with drivers, ensuring adherence to vehicle inspection protocols and monitoring vehicle cleanliness.
- Monitor and support operational KPIs, including on-time delivery, scanning compliance, proof-of-delivery (POD) reporting, and Bringg usage.
- Manage mis-sorts and ensure freight is redirected to the appropriate terminals by creating accurate freight bills.
Training and Development
- Train all new hires, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills required to perform their duties effectively.
- Coach and mentor drivers to improve performance, safety standards, and overall team cohesion.
- Support the ongoing development of the courier team to maintain high service standards and meet operational goals.
Reporting and Administrative Tasks
- Generate operational reports related to courier performance, deliveries, and compliance.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by the Courier Operations Manager.
What You Bring
- Dependable, positive team leader with strong communication, conflict-resolution, time-management, multitasking, and feedback skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, email reporting, scanners, and required paperwork; TruckMate knowledge is an asset.
- Reliable local transportation and previous forklift operating experience; forklift certification is an asset.
- Committed to safe work in a fast-paced, team-oriented warehouse environment and willing to complete required Dangerous Goods and forklift training.
- Able to perform heavy lifting, work in varying warehouse temperatures and noise levels, wear safety footwear, maintain a clean criminal background, and complete driver clearance if required.
