Allied Universal is seeking Bilingual Security Professional - Reception / Front Desk Vancouver,British Columbia.
Position: Security Professional
Location: Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia
Payrate: $20.25 per hour
Status: Full - Time
Shift: Monday To Friday ; 0830 - 1630
Overview:
Allied Universal is seeking a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Bilingual Security Guard to join our team in Vancouver, BC. This full-time position supports a government office environment and is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and professional workplace.
The successful candidate will provide security services including access control, visitor management, identification and badge administration, security monitoring, patrols, incident reporting, emergency response coordination, and control room operations.
This position is well suited to a security professional with strong communication skills, attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Important Security Clearance Requirement :Candidates must have continuously resided in Canada for a minimum of five (5) years and meet the eligibility requirements to obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance.Requirements:
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident status, as required for the applicable security clearance process.
- Minimum five (5) years of continuous residency in Canada.
- Eligibility to obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance.
- Fluency in English and French, both spoken and written.
- Minimum one (1) year of security experience.
- Valid British Columbia Security Worker Licence.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written procedures, Post Orders, and security protocols.
- Ability to use computer-based security systems, access control systems, and reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a professional security team.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and focused during emergencies or high-pressure situations.
- Previous experience as an Access Control Officer, Security Controller, Security Coordinator, Identification Officer, Control Room Operator, or similar security position is considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional front desk security, reception, and customer service.
- Greet and assist employees, visitors, contractors, guests, and clients in a professional manner.
- Verify identification, badges, credentials, and visitor access in accordance with site procedures.
- Manage visitor access, keys, access cards, deliveries, packages, couriers, and contractors.
- Monitor and control facility access while maintaining a welcoming and secure environment.
- Monitor CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and building management systems.
- Conduct regular security patrols, inspections, and access checks.
- Check the MDF (Main Distribution Frame) room and server room every four hours and document inspection results.
- Respond to security incidents, alarms, emergencies, suspicious activity, and safety concerns.
- Prepare accurate visitor logs, daily activity reports, inspection records, and incident reports.
- Communicate security concerns and incidents to Site Management and Allied Universal leadership.
- Coordinate with police, fire, medical, and other emergency services when required.
- Enforce site-specific Post Orders, security policies, emergency procedures, and client requirements.
- Assist employees and visitors with general questions, directions, and information.
- Maintain a professional appearance and secure, organized reception area.
- Use computers, security systems, email, and reporting tools to complete administrative and security tasks.
- Support emergency preparedness, fire safety, and evacuation procedures.
- Perform other security, reception, and administrative duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Client.
