Low Voltage Home Automation Technician

We're looking to add a great person to our home automation team.

We're a north shore based low-voltage home automation company working on high-end residential projects, and we're looking for someone who is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and enjoys solving problems and/or troubleshooting.

You don't necessarily need to know everything about home automation — we can teach the right person. What matters most is that you're good with tools, think logically, take pride in your work, and aren't afraid to figure things out.

What we're looking for:

● Comfortable using hand and power tools

● A natural problem solver who can think outside the box

● Experience in construction, electrical, low-voltage, or related trades is an asset

● An interest in networking, Wi-Fi, and IP-based systems

● Interest or experience with AV, audio/video, and home entertainment systems

● Interest in smart home technology, lighting control, security, and automation

● Comfortable with wiring, terminations, mounting equipment, and building systems

● Able to read plans and work neatly and methodically

● Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation (work vehicle can be provided in due time)

● Able to work independently while also being part of a team

● Pride in doing clean, professional work

The biggest quality we're looking for is someone who has the right attitude, is handy, resourceful and good with people. If you're the type of person who gets handed a problem and thinks “I'll figure it out,” you may be exactly who we're looking for.

Experience with systems such as Control4, Lutron, networking, distributed audio, video, surveillance, and home automation is a bonus, but not required for the right candidate. Experience with security alarm systems would also be an asset.

We offer the opportunity to learn a specialized trade and work on some pretty cool residential technology projects.
