Located in Selkirk, Manitoba, Easton Place Clinic is a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare clinic dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in a welcoming, community-focused environment. Home to a team of physicians and healthcare professionals, the clinic provides integrated primary care services while fostering strong collaboration between providers to improve patient outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a patient-focused Pharmacist who enjoys building meaningful relationships, working alongside physicians, and delivering personalized pharmaceutical care. With a manageable prescription volume and strong physician support, this role offers the opportunity to spend more time with patients while contributing to the continued growth of clinical pharmacy services.

The Role

Reporting to clinic leadership, the Staff Pharmacist is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and compassionate pharmaceutical care while supporting the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. Working closely with physicians, pharmacy assistants, and clinic staff, the successful candidate will provide medication counselling, dispense prescriptions accurately, monitor medication therapies, and contribute to an exceptional patient experience.

This position is well suited to someone who enjoys balancing traditional dispensing responsibilities with direct patient interaction and collaborative healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Services

  • Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Dispense medications accurately while ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide medication counselling, education, and ongoing pharmaceutical care to patients.
  • Monitor medication therapies and collaborate with physicians to optimize treatment plans.
  • Answer medication-related questions and provide clinical recommendations to both patients and healthcare providers.
  • Support opportunities to expand clinical pharmacy services as the practice continues to grow.

Pharmacy Operations

  • Ensure accurate maintenance of patient medication profiles and pharmacy records using the Kroll pharmacy management system.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy assistants to ensure efficient daily workflow.
  • Support inventory management and pharmacy operations.
  • Assist with reporting, monitoring insurance payments, and other pharmacy administrative activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining compliance with professional practice standards and pharmacy policies.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Work closely with approximately 10 physicians located within the clinic, providing collaborative pharmaceutical care.
  • Foster strong relationships with patients and members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and pharmacy operations.

Qualifications

  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centred care and clinical excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Kroll pharmacy software is considered an asset.
  • Comfortable balancing dispensing responsibilities with direct patient care and collaborative clinical practice.
  • Previous community pharmacy experience is preferred.
