Position Overview

Canoco Energy Services is seeking an experienced Civil Foreman for work in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading civil crews, coordinating daily field activities, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and quality requirements.

We are looking for a strong field leader with proven experience supervising industrial civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise civil crews and daily field activities.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and work priorities.
  • Oversee civil construction activities including earthworks, excavation, grading, concrete, underground utilities, and site preparation.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and work packages to ensure work is completed according to project requirements.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and communicate work plans and expectations to crews.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company and client safety requirements.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and project progress.
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, Safety, Quality, and other trades.
  • Identify potential delays, field issues, and manpower or equipment requirements.
  • Complete required daily reports and field documentation.
  • Ensure crews maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to field personnel.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous Civil Foreman experience is required.
  • Strong background in industrial civil construction.
  • Experience with earthworks, excavation, grading, concrete, underground utilities, and site development.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, elevations, and site plans.
  • Proven ability to effectively supervise and coordinate field crews.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple work activities while maintaining project schedules.
  • Knowledge of construction safety requirements and safe work practices.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • Current CSTS/CSO and WHMIS 2015 required.
  • Additional industry safety certifications are considered an asset.
