Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) is a recognized, industry-led, not-for-profit organization that operates regulated recycling programs across Canada. We provide environmental compliance programs for manufacturers, distributors and retailers of electronics and represent the largest network of qualified processors and drop-off locations in Canada. Our mandate is to ensure end-of-life electronics are handled in a safe, secure and environmentally-sound manner.
We currently have a co-op opportunity in our Information Systems department that will be based out of our Mississauga head office located at 5750 Explorer Drive. This is a CO-OP STUDENT placement for an 8-months starting in January 2027.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office, this position supports the organization in several key activities, including data collection, entry, and maintenance, quality assurance testing, resolving operational issues, producing reports, and analyzing results for purpose-built databases containing key business information, all while looking for ways to optimize processes and enhance the applications they support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support applications via data collection, entry, and maintenance.
- Performing analysis on database contents and preparing reports
- Maintaining data and performing quality verifications on file imports
- Handling queries from internal and external individuals, providing database inputs
- Assisting Application Leads with requirements gathering efforts, developing use cases, and attending weekly development meetings
- Testing code changes to ensure all specifications and requirements are satisfied
- Recording defects and creating detailed story cards to aid IT in fixing issues
- Identifying process and application improvement opportunities to improve efficiency and/or improve the customer experience
- Documenting process changes
Ideal Candidate
- MUST be enrolled in a post-secondary degree/diploma ideally in Business, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline involving data management/analysis and/or technology
- Analytical skills to study problems, identify and record solutions
- A disciplined individual with a strong attention to detail
- Motivated self-starter who has the ability to identify/resolve issues independently
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills with an ability to provide concise and detailed written and verbal communications
- A team-oriented attitude with an aptitude to help colleagues with technical as well as process issues
- An ability to manage time and effectively prioritize multiple projects at one time
- Solid MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Access)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
