Position Summary

The Junior Business Analyst supports the discovery, analysis, and documentation work that turns client business needs into the solutions Naryant builds. Working closely with senior analysts and delivery teams, you'll help gather requirements, document processes, and validate solutions while building the craft of business analysis. This is a hands-on learning role in a small consultancy: you'll be exposed to the full engagement lifecycle early, contribute real work from day one, and grow your skills with direct mentorship and increasing ownership over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support requirements discovery by helping prepare for and participate in client interviews, workshops, and process-mapping sessions, and capturing clear notes and follow-ups.
  • Help document business needs as requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria under the guidance of senior analysts.
  • Assist in analyzing existing data, systems, and workflows to surface gaps, questions, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate information and follow-ups between client stakeholders and Naryant's design, engineering, and data teams to keep everyone aligned.
  • Draft and maintain functional specifications, process documentation, and requirement traceability.
  • Support solution validation and UAT, including preparing test cases, tracking issues, and helping confirm client acceptance.
  • Help maintain and improve BA templates, standards, and documentation as the firm grows.
  • Build positive, trusted working relationships with clients and internal teams throughout the engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience in business analysis or a related role (including co-op, internship, or adjacent analytical/coordination experience).
  • Solid foundational skills in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication, with a willingness to learn.
  • Exposure to data-centric or software delivery projects (analytics, BI, custom applications, or integrations) through school, work, or personal projects.
  • Interest in and some exposure to process modelling tools and agile delivery.
  • Ability to read and interpret data; familiarity with SQL or BI tools is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Post-secondary degree in business, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • ECBA (Entry Certificate in Business Analysis) or progress toward a business analysis certification.
  • Co-op, internship, or project experience in fleet/telematics, healthcare, transportation, or public sector.
  • Familiarity with data platforms and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or telematics data.
  • Awareness of Agile or Scrum practices.

Core Competencies

Curiosity, attention to detail, clear communication, collaboration, client orientation, and eagerness to learn.

What We Offer

  • Direct mentorship from senior analysts and close collaboration with leadership.
  • Varied, high-calibre project work across multiple industries and technologies, early in your career.
  • Visible impact on client outcomes and a short path from idea to action.
  • Room to grow as we scale, with increasing ownership and autonomy as you develop.
