We are looking for an experience Class 1 Truck Driver for an opportunity with our client located in the Prince George area.
The role requires someone with skills and experience driving super b's, flat decks, dump trucks, and roll off experience would be an asset. The driver must be able to drive standard/manual and automatic transmission trucks, and a standard/manual Class 1 license would be ideal. Duties & Responsibilities · Hauling industrial materials. · Performs pre/post-trip inspections on the vehicle assigned to drive. · Carries out general safety practices of a commercial driver. · Follows guidelines for safe load securement. · Communicates with customers in a professional manner. · Carries out instructions from Dispatch in a timely manner. · Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service-related issues to Manager or Dispatch. · Positions and/or returns container on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids and doors are properly replaced, and do not block driveway entrances or traffic. · Additional duties as assigned by management. Job Requirements · Must have a valid Class 1 driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of experience. · Clean drivers abstract. · Preferably experience operating a heavy commercial truck. · Experience driving both standard/manual and automatic transmission trucks. · Experience with roll-offs, body jobs and dump trucks preferred. · Experience hauling B-trains, but not a requirement. · Experience with self-loading material handles or Hiab is a definite asset. · Flexibility with work shifts and ability to travel occasionally. · Good interpersonal and customer service skills. Work Environment · Drive an enclosed truck on a daily basis. · Work outdoors while loading and unloading goods. Work indoors while driving or filling out paperwork. Indoor temperatures may not be controlled. · Are often exposed to contaminants, such as diesel fuel or exhaust. · Wear protective or safety attire on a weekly basis. · Sometimes are exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures while working outside. · May have to get into cramped positions to reach workspaces, such as the back of a truck.
