We're currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical candidate for the role of Scheduler. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules throughout all phases of construction. The Scheduler provides project teams with accurate scheduling information to support planning, coordination, forecasting, and timely decision-making, while identifying potential risks, delays, and impacts to successful project delivery.

Your Impact at LAURIN
As a Scheduler, you will play a key role in supporting the successful planning and delivery of our projects. By providing accurate and reliable project schedules, identifying potential risks and delays, and delivering timely insights into project progress and forecasted outcomes, you will help project teams make informed decisions and keep projects moving forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, ensuring alignment with project scope, construction sequencing, milestones, and contract requirements.
- Incorporate subcontractor schedules, resource requirements, and cost loading into the master project schedule as required.
- Identify changes, unforeseen conditions, and other unplanned events, assessing their potential impact on project schedules.
- Develop short- and long-term lookahead schedules to support project planning and field execution.
- Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to support adherence to project schedules, timelines, and deliverables.
- Lead interactive planning sessions and participate in project kickoff and progress meetings to maintain schedule alignment across stakeholders.
- Regularly update and analyze schedules to reflect project progress, delays, and approved changes, including variance analysis, manpower forecasts, resource loading, and cash flow projections.
- Conduct schedule analysis to identify constructability concerns, risks, opportunities, and potential impacts to project delivery, developing mitigation appropriate strategies.
- Analyze schedule delays and variances against the baseline and develop practical solutions to address scheduling conflicts and impacts.
- Manage schedule revisions in accordance with contract requirements and maintain appropriate schedule documentation.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience developing, maintaining, and managing schedules for complex construction projects.
- Experience working with ICI (Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial) projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications, contracts, proposal documents, and project documentation, with the ability to interpret construction drawings and understand their impact on project scheduling.
- Understanding of construction sequencing, work planning, project execution, and the interdependencies between trades and activities.
- Hands-on experience with schedule development, logic and activity sequencing, progress measurement, forecasting, resource loading and leveling, and schedule impact analysis.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of critical path analysis, earned value management, schedule risk analysis, and delay analysis techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to identifying schedule risks, delays, and potential project impacts.
- Experience managing multiple project schedules while balancing competing priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder requirements.
Education & Professional Credentials
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), considered an asset
- Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), considered an asset
Eligibility & Security Requirements
At LAURIN, many of our projects require specific employment and security conditions. To be considered, candidates must:
- Be legally authorized to work in Canada. Please note that LAURIN does not provide or assume sponsorship for work permits or visas.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance (Secret clearance is considered an asset).
- Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of authorization to work in Canada (e.g., valid work permit or Social Insurance Number). All offers of employment are conditional upon obtaining the required security clearance.
Estimated Compensation
The salary range for this role is $75,000 — $100,000 based on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed in your personalized offer.
