- Assist with the implementation of new group benefits plans, including coordinating documentation, setup, and communication with clients and carriers.
- Provide ongoing administration and support for existing group benefits plans.
- Respond to client, advisor, and member inquiries in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner.
- Assist clients and plan members with questions regarding benefits, coverage, eligibility, claims, plan changes, and general policy administration.
- Liaise with insurance carriers and providers to resolve issues and obtain information on behalf of clients.
- Prepare and maintain accurate client and plan documentation.
- Regularly update and maintain client files and information within the company's CRM.
- Manage departmental documents, records, and administrative processes.
- Utilize group benefits quoting software, insurance carrier portals, Zoom, DocuSign, and other technology platforms.
- Assist with benefit plan renewals, amendments, employee changes, and other ongoing client servicing needs.
- Follow up on outstanding items to ensure requests are completed accurately and on time.
- Perform general administrative duties, including scanning, printing, photocopying, mail, and other office support as required.
- Stay current with changes in the group benefits and insurance industry, carrier requirements, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and contribute to a positive client experience.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in group benefits administration or a related insurance role.
- Strong understanding of group benefits and an interest in continuing to develop your industry knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional, friendly, and service-oriented approach.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- A proactive, resourceful approach to problem-solving
- Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team player.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
- A willingness to learn and enthusiasm for building a long-term career in the insurance industry.
- University or college education is preferred, but relevant industry experience will also be considered.
