Responsibilities
  • Assist with the implementation of new group benefits plans, including coordinating documentation, setup, and communication with clients and carriers.
  • Provide ongoing administration and support for existing group benefits plans.
  • Respond to client, advisor, and member inquiries in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner.
  • Assist clients and plan members with questions regarding benefits, coverage, eligibility, claims, plan changes, and general policy administration.
  • Liaise with insurance carriers and providers to resolve issues and obtain information on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate client and plan documentation.
  • Regularly update and maintain client files and information within the company's CRM.
  • Manage departmental documents, records, and administrative processes.
  • Utilize group benefits quoting software, insurance carrier portals, Zoom, DocuSign, and other technology platforms.
  • Assist with benefit plan renewals, amendments, employee changes, and other ongoing client servicing needs.
  • Follow up on outstanding items to ensure requests are completed accurately and on time.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including scanning, printing, photocopying, mail, and other office support as required.
  • Stay current with changes in the group benefits and insurance industry, carrier requirements, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and contribute to a positive client experience.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in group benefits administration or a related insurance role.
  • Strong understanding of group benefits and an interest in continuing to develop your industry knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional, friendly, and service-oriented approach.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • A proactive, resourceful approach to problem-solving
  • Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  • A willingness to learn and enthusiasm for building a long-term career in the insurance industry.
  • University or college education is preferred, but relevant industry experience will also be considered.
