Our client located in Newmarket, Ontario is currently seeking Electricians.
SHIFT: PLEASE SPECIFY WHAT SHIFT YOU PREFER WHEN APPLYING. Days, Afternoons and Nights
Pay: $33.00 per hour. Depending on experience.
Scope of Position:
- Provide all departments with safe, well maintained equipment, while ensuring quality and the ability to meet production requirements in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all associated lighting and power are in proper working order. Ensure all codes and company procedures are to standard.
- Complete electrical repairs/ installation on all equipment and machinery including backup to assembly line programs, and creating and modifying programs.
- Complete paperwork in a timely manner. This includes work orders, time sheets, log board entries, and line book revisions.
- Order parts and follow the parts received procedure.
- Maintain up to date documentation of all assembly equipment. This includes issuing work orders and documenting all changes and repairs through MVP.
- Make recommendations to the critical spare parts inventory for the assembly equipment.
- Provide input and recommendations for Assembly Line Preventative Maintenance plans.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement suggestions on the production line.
- Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager.
- Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA.
- Work in compliance and conform to the Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
- Conduct electrical safety audits as needed.
- Assist in training all new electricians, including apprentices where applicable.
- Provide support to the Production Department and Facilities as required.
Key Relationships:
- Assembly Support Leadhand/Manager: Provides direct supervision, assigns jobs, and provides guidance and advice on all aspect of the job. Provide the Manager with full information and all necessary reports.
- Production Department: Maintain contact with machine operators and supervisors in order to help solve problems and concerns.
- Quality Assurance Department: Maintain contact with the quality department in order to provide assistance in solving quality concerns related to equipment.
- CNC machining Department: Provide support to achieve common goals as required and debugging of the machine as needed.
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A) preferably in Automotive industry.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with PLC programming.
- Extensive experience with pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Good communication skills.
- Leverages problem solving skills.
