Location: Grimsby, ON
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Typical Start Time: Approximately 9:00 AM
Compensation: $26.25/hour for shuttle work + $200 per completed UPS trip

Position Overview

CPC Logistics is seeking an experienced AZ Driver to join our dedicated transportation operation supporting both scheduled shuttle work and cross-border UPS deliveries into the Buffalo, NY area.

This is a Monday to Friday position that combines daytime shuttle work with an afternoon/evening UPS delivery. Shuttle assignments may originate from Guelph, Woodbridge or other designated customer locations and are primarily pin-to-pin moves.

The driver will normally complete one UPS trip per day, with the potential for a second UPS load during peak periods or when operational volume requires.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled shuttle work between CPC/customer locations in Ontario.
  • Safely operate tractor-trailer equipment in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Complete one or more UPS Air or UPS Ground cross-border deliveries as assigned.
  • Cross the Canada/United States border and complete required customs and transportation documentation.
  • Safely unload freight at UPS delivery locations.
  • Use pump trucks and other available material-handling equipment as required at delivery locations.
  • Secure and inspect freight and equipment before, during and after each trip.
  • Complete required electronic logs, trip documentation and border records.
  • Follow all applicable Hours of Service, DOT, MTO and company safety requirements.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, dispatchers, border personnel and other CPC employees.
  • Report equipment defects, delays, incidents and other operational issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing CPC Logistics at customer locations.
  • Perform other transportation and yard duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active driving position. Specific lifting and material-handling requirements will be reviewed as part of the position's job demands and safety assessment.

The successful candidate must be able to:
  • Safely enter and exit a tractor and trailer.
  • Perform trailer inspections and routine equipment checks.
  • Load, unload, push, pull, carry and position freight as required.
  • Perform repetitive manual material handling during UPS deliveries.
  • Work safely around trailers, docks, loading areas and material-handling equipment.
  • Safely handle freight using proper lifting, pushing, pulling and team-handling techniques.
  • Perform the physical requirements of the position in accordance with CPC Logistics' safe work procedures and applicable workplace health and safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario AZ driver's license.
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial tractor-trailer driving experience.
  • Acceptable driver's abstract and commercial driving record.
  • Valid Canadian passport.
  • Legally eligible to enter the United States for commercial transportation purposes.
  • Ability to successfully complete required US commercial driver drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to meet applicable US DOT/FMCSA requirements for cross-border commercial driving.
  • Ability to comply with Ontario and US Hours of Service requirements.
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday with afternoon/evening delivery requirements.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong safety record and commitment to safe driving practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing operational requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with dispatch, customers and border personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FAST card.
  • Previous Canada/US cross-border driving experience.
  • Previous UPS delivery experience.
  • Experience with PAPS, PARS, ACE, ACI or similar customs processes.
  • Experience with electronic logging and fleet technology.
  • Experience with Samsara, TruckMate or similar transportation systems.
  • Previous dedicated fleet or shuttle experience.

Compensation

  • $26.25/hour for assigned shuttle work.
  • $200 trip payment for each completed UPS trip.
  • One UPS trip is normally expected per day.
  • A second UPS trip may be assigned during peak periods based on customer volume and operational requirements.
  • Applicable overtime and other compensation will be administered in accordance with applicable employment standards and company policy.

Schedule

The typical workday begins at approximately 9:00 AM and extends into the evening.

The driver will generally perform shuttle work during the first portion of the shift before reporting to the Grimsby terminal/home location for the scheduled UPS departure.

UPS departures are generally planned for approximately 5:00 PM, with the driver returning to the terminal/home location after completing the assigned UPS run.

Operational requirements, border conditions, customer volume and peak-season activity may result in longer workdays and/or a second UPS assignment.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a professional, safety-focused AZ driver who is comfortable with both local shuttle work and cross-border transportation.

The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable of performing the required unloading work, comfortable crossing the Canada/US border and able to adapt to changing customer volume while maintaining safe and compliant operations.

CPC Logistics is committed to providing a safe and respectful workplace and to complying with all applicable employment, accessibility, human rights and occupational health and safety requirements.
