Service Desk Technician

Our client in Ajax is seeking a Service Desk Technician responsible for providing first-line IT support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and supporting users as needed.

Position Title- Help/ Service Desk Technician

Pay rate will be $25 - $30/hr

Contract role- 1 year

This will be a day shift position (37 hours per week)

Starting ASAP

CGP clearance is required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with PC imaging and deployment
• Diagnose and resolve IS incidents and fulfil IS requests through ServiceNow system, email, phone or walkup and escalate when when necessary.
• Support Windows 11 operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications
• Troubleshoot issues related to PCs, laptops, printers and attached devices
• Perform basic Active Directory tasks (account unlocks, password resets, group membership updates)
• Handle incoming calls, emails, and tickets in a professional, customer-focused manner
• Document incidents, resolutions, and standard operating procedures
• Track and manage tickets using an incident management system
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to problem management and trend analysis
• Follow ITIL-based processes for incident and request management

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  2–5 years of experience in an IT support role
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Experience with IT ticketing systems
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or Microsoft certifications are an asset

Thorough understanding in the following areas:

• Windows 11.
• Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• Active Directory basics
• PC hardware (Dell preferred
• Printers and peripherals
• SCCM imaging
