Job Overview

We are looking for a Pricing Analyst to join our five-member Pricing Team, reporting directly to the Director of Pricing &Analytics of a private equity backed company. The position is a newly created role as a result of strong organic growth to support the organization with strategic planning and analysis. The position will be responsible for developing pricing strategies, monitoring key revenue driving metrics, and provide in-depth analysis for internal reporting. The ideal candidate wants to analyze data, drive operational improvements, and make a significant impact at our mid-sized entrepreneurial organization. He/she will have strong attention to detail, be intellectually curious, driven to succeed, and a great communicator and will work closely with the leadership.

Hours of operation will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Candidates located within the GTA will work on‑site Monday to Friday. Candidates outside the GTA/ Moncton location will work remotely. Travel within Canada will occur 1–2 times per year. For those outside the GTA, 1–2 weeks of on‑site training will be required at one of our branch locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data and provide recommendations to help respond to Request For Quotes (“RFQs”) for pricing new and existing customers.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis by analyzing operational and financial data to support the management team
  • Proactively suggest recommendations that will drive profitable growth based on your review of Vortex's financial and operational
  • Develop an understanding of Vortex's operational processes and IT systems, with an eye to identifying opportunities to document and streamline tasks in a new ERP
  • Assist with due diligence on competitors, customers, and suppliers related to acquisitions, sales expansion strategies, and new strategic
  • Collaborate across the organization to assist with project plans and timelines for new initiatives being rolled out across the organization by the leadership

  • Participates confidently in meetings at all levels and supports tasks of any scope, contributing wherever needed to help the team succeed.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, consulting or
  • Completion of an economics, math, business or engineering
  • Experience in entrepreneurial organizations (can be professional experience, side hustles, or volunteer experience).
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Competency with Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with Truckmate or Power BI an asset, but not required.
  • Proactive desire to learn, explore new ideas, and seek information that enhances decision‑making and continuous improvement.
  • Shows strong perseverance and determination, consistently following through on tasks and overcoming challenges to achieve results.
  • Experience with additional data analytics tools an asset, but not

Compensation for this role is $60,000-75,000 as the salary range and will vary depending on experience.
