THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Lead Hand to join a well-established manufacturing organization. This hands-on leadership role will provide technical guidance and support to the electrical team while coordinating daily work, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong industrial electrical background, leadership experience, and the ability to take initiative and direct the team when supervision is unavailable.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical guidance, assistance, and direction to the electrical team to support daily operations.
- Assign work throughout the team to effectively meet production and company objectives.
- Act as the first point of contact for issues arising from the shop floor and escalate unresolved concerns to supervision.
- Direct work activities in the absence of supervision to ensure required goals and timelines are achieved.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor and Manager and take direction as required.
- Troubleshoot new and existing industrial machinery and electrical applications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems, including VFDs and PLCs.
- Participate in projects from initial conception through completion and shipping.
- Ensure testing and procedures are properly understood, completed, and evaluated.
- Monitor team performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Identify relevant training and tooling requirements to support the electrical team.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety, Quality Management Systems, and company policies.
- Assist with other roles and responsibilities as required to support overall company goals.
- Maintain a professional manner while promoting efficiency, teamwork, and quality throughout the shop.
REQUIREMENTS
- 442A Industrial Electrician and/or 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician certification
- Extensive experience with new and existing industrial machinery and electrical applications.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Working knowledge of VFD and PLC programs.
- Knowledge of electrical programming is considered an asset; candidates with programming experience may be considered based on overall experience.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, manufacturing, and inspection processes.
- Computer proficiency.
- 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to provide direction and guidance to a team while working toward company objectives.
- Ability to work independently and direct work in the absence of supervision.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to understand and enforce Health & Safety, Quality Management Systems, and company policies.
- Must be flexible, team-oriented, and able to maintain a professional manner at all times.
