THE ROLE:
Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Servicer to perform a variety of general maintenance, repair, and building service duties across multiple properties in Hamilton, ON.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliance repairs, and general building maintenance.
This is a temporary contract with potential for permanent employment. The exact length of the temporary assignment will depend on our client's operational needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs in residential units and common/public areas
- Install, repair, replace, and maintain plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, faucets, drains, shower heads, wax seals, and related components
- Perform minor electrical repairs involving light fixtures, receptacles, switches, breakers, smoke detectors, sensors, and other electrical components
- Complete carpentry repairs including doors, locks, closet mechanisms, baseboards, cupboards, countertops, drawers, mail slots, and safety hardware
- Perform drywall patching, plaster repairs, ceramic/floor tile repairs, painting, caulking, and general finishing work
- Repair and maintain appliances such as refrigerators and stoves
- Inspect building systems and identify deficiencies requiring repair or follow-up
- Perform routine, preventative, emergency, and unscheduled maintenance as required
- Complete walk-throughs of assigned properties to ensure equipment and building systems are functioning properly
- Monitor and assist with heating, ventilation, water supply, fire pumps, generators, and other mechanical/electrical equipment
- Maintain public facilities including laundry rooms, washrooms, lounges, recycling areas, and garbage disposal systems
- Assist with preparing vacant units for viewing by completing necessary repairs and maintenance
- Complete work orders and accurately document completed maintenance activities
- Use computer systems to enter work orders, maintenance information, and key/lock records
- Operate key-making equipment as required
- Assist contractors and provide site access/information during maintenance and capital projects
- Travel between various assigned locations as required
- Safely move furniture, appliances, and other materials using appropriate equipment
- Load and unload vehicles as required
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related trade
- Strong hands-on knowledge of plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate repairs
- Experience working with hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Professional and respectful communication when interacting with residents, staff, contractors, and management
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance duties
- Valid Class G driver's licence
- Reliable personal vehicle required for work-related travel
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, climb, and perform manual maintenance tasks
- Ability to perform overhead work, including ceiling and drywall repairs
- Ability to work under sinks and in confined or awkward positions
- Ability to safely move furniture, appliances, and other heavy materials using appropriate equipment
- Ability to load and unload vehicles
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Must be physically capable of performing general maintenance and repair duties safely
