JOB SUMMARYThe EDI Systems and Admin Manager is responsible for the strategy, administration, support, reliability, integrity, security, and continuous improvement of AGS Automotive Systems' Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment and related integration technologies. The role ensures accurate, timely, and stable exchange of critical transactions between AGS, Tiercon, customers, suppliers, logistics providers, OEMs, trading partners, and third-party service providers.With EDI service delivery outsourced to QCE (QAD Cloud-EDI), this role coordinates, vets, costs, implements, supports, and improves EDI requirements for manufacturing Plants and Corporate teams, including Finance, Procurement, Customs, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Production Control, Logistics, ERP, MES, barcode labeling, and Information Technology.The EDI Systems and Admin Manager is also responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of duties and responsibilities as outlined below in accordance with AGS' cultural priorities. It is expected that the incumbent will participate in meetings, on teams and projects to collectively achieve our priorities.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESServices DeliveryEnsure stable, cost-effective EDI service delivery for AGS and Tiercon across supported facilities and business units.Manage daily EDI operations, monitor inbound and outbound transaction activity, and proactively address processing failures, delays, or exceptions.Manage QCE and related VAN providers, EDI service providers, software vendors, consultants, and external support partners.Manage VANs, trading partner relationships, connectivity, testing, certification, and implementation requirements for Plant and Corporate business needs.Establish service level expectations for performance, reliability, issue response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.Support shared systems and account administration as needed, including data, users, security, performance, capacity, and system access.Technical Analysis and Problem DeterminationManage technical EDI transactions and connections through QAD E-Commerce, QAD Enterprise Edition, and related business applications.Understand and set specifications for EDI data mapping and translation, then implement with in-house development and/or subcontracting services through QCE.Oversee routine EDI traffic, including customer releases, schedules, purchase orders, ASNs, invoices, remittance advice, inventory, shipment, and payment transactions.Use OEM Supplier Portal systems to implement EDI changes, manage requirements, resolve traffic issues, and maintain a stable subsystem.Coordinate interface development, testing, validation, deployment, documentation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support for customer, supplier, logistics, OEM portal, and internal EDI issues.ERP Integration and System AdministrationMaintain EDI integration points within QAD Enterprise Edition, QAD E-Commerce, Sterling Ecommerce where applicable, MES, reporting, and other business applications.Collaborate with ERP, MES, reporting, barcode labeling, and IT teams to improve automation, streamline processes, and strengthen business continuity.Ensure EDI transactions support production continuity, supply chain execution, inventory accuracy, shipping accuracy, invoicing, and payment activity.Requirements Management and CollaborationGather, scope, vet, prioritize, cost, and implement new or changed EDI requirements with business and functional peers.Translate Plant and Corporate business requirements into technical solutions, implementation plans, and sustainable support processes.Support cross-functional ERP, EDI, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, finance, procurement, customs, and customer service projects.Ability to work independently and be a self-starter with initiative is vital.Continuous Improvement, Governance, and Vendor ManagementImprove transaction accuracy, automation, system performance, process efficiency, and data quality.Standardize EDI processes across locations while maintaining documentation, controls, audit readiness, cybersecurity, data integrity, and compliance.Coordinate vendor support, escalations, project deliverables, service expectations, and business requirements.Evaluate new technologies and solutions that support AGS integration, automation, and digital transformation strategies.EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEMinimum college certification/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, Supply Chain, or related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.EDI-specific training program certification is considered an asset.Minimum five years of hands-on EDI support, administration, implementation, and management experience in manufacturing.Automotive Tier-1 supplier experience, with full competence on related EDI codes and standards.ERP systems exposure with a strong preference for QAD Enterprise Edition, QAD E-Commerce, and the embedded Sterling Ecommerce EDI subsystem.Experience managing EDI implementations, trading partner onboarding activities, and cross-functional business and technology initiatives.Technical SkillsStrong understanding of ANSI X12 and automotive EDI standards.Experience supporting EDI transactions and maps, including 830, 862, 850, 856 ASN, 810, and 820.Knowledge of EDI mapping, translation, VAN, AS2, SFTP, OEM supplier portals, and customer integration requirements.Working knowledge of QAD Enterprise Edition, QAD E-Commerce, Sterling Ecommerce where applicable, and related integration technologies.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root cause, problem-solving, communication, relationship, and project management skills.Knowledge of SQL and data analysis tools is considered an asset.EFFORTComputer-based work on EDI, ERP/QAD, portals, barcode labeling, reporting tools, and email, with virtual conferencing to peers, service providers, OEMs, vendors, and internal teams.Requirements management, prioritization, concurrent project and issue management, commercial oversight, transaction monitoring, and reliable EDI service ownership.Participation in project implementations, testing activities, critical issue resolution, documentation, and business continuity support.WORKING CONDITIONSIn-office presence with virtual support for manufacturing Plants and teams throughout Southern Ontario and Sterling Heights, Michigan.Hybrid office and plant support environment, including occasional travel to AGS manufacturing and corporate locations as required.Ability to travel for business to the United States from Canada, or vice versa, is preferable though not required.Availability to support business-critical systems outside normal working hours when required.Accessibility: AGS Automotive Systems is proud to support the full inclusion of persons with disabilities as set out in the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.
