Recreation Leader - Sportsplex (Part-time)

DEFINITION:Under the direction of the Programs Supervisor, or his/her delegate, assists with a variety of janitorial tasks, supervises public ice skating, and performs cash function at the Sportsplex during public skating, and related programmes.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:Supervise public use of the Sportsplex;Maintain order on the ice surface;Perform janitorial duties, as assigned;Collect cash for public skating programmes and record daily cash receipts;Other related duties, as required.MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Completion of Grade 10;Ability to operate related equipment;Some janitorial experience;First Aid training;Ability to work independently and to accomplish tasks and assignments;Ability to deal effectively with co-workers and the public;Good written and oral communication skills.A criminal record check will be required to be provided by all potential successful applicants to this position prior to it being awarded.The above statement is a general description of the principal functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.The City of Terrace is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and equitable workplace that reflects the diversity of the community we serve.
