Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Expected Wage Range: $35.00 to $38.00 per hour. Placement within the range will be based on relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Some overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

Terlin's Millwork Division produces custom interior and exterior finishes, cabinetry and decorative components using wood, laminates, solid-surface materials, synthetics, plastics and composites. Our work includes commercial cabinetry, architectural millwork, entrance and window features, built-in elements, wall features, and custom office, hotel, reception and boardroom furnishings.

The opportunity

Terlin is seeking an experienced Senior Cabinet Maker to lead the building high-precision custom cabinetry in millwork from plans and architectural drawings, on time and to high industry standards.

This role combines hands-on cabinetmaking with planning, problem-solving, leadership and the development of apprentices and junior cabinet makers.

Key responsibilities

  • Review plans and ensure a thorough understanding of each project's
  • Plan and execute work to meet customer timelines and quality
  • Identify problems or barriers that could affect completion and recommend practical
  • Lead project builds with assistance of one or two apprentices or junior cabinet
  • Lead, mentor, coach and train junior employees in cabinetmaking techniques and quality
  • Ensure safety standards are met and reinforced throughout the shop and promptly report concerns to the
  • Work within a larger team to maintain a safe, clean and efficient
  • Use company-supplied tools and equipment responsibly and in accordance with safe-work

Work conditions

  • On-site work in an active custom millwork
  • Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 m. to 3:30 p.m. Some overtime may be required to meet project completion deadlines and will be compensated in accordance with applicable law.
  • Tools required for the role are supplied by Terlin

Qualifications

  • At least five years of high-precision, detail-oriented cabinetmaking
  • At least three years of bespoke millwork experience, such as reception desks, feature walls and other custom architectural elements.
  • Experience working with solid wood, laminate, Corian and comparable
  • Ability to read plans and architectural drawings and translate them into accurate, high-quality finished
  • Strong attention to detail, spatial reasoning and mathematical skills for accurate measurement and
  • Ability to lead project work and mentor, coach and train apprentice or junior cabinet
  • High school diploma or equivalent is typically required; technical or vocational training in cabinetmaking or a related trade is an asset.
  • Commitment to learning, following safety protocols and contributing to a collaborative team.
