Maintenance Supervisor
Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre is currently recruiting a full-time Maintenance Supervisor! The successful candidate will be driven and dedicated, possessing the skills necessary to respond quickly to maintenance requests and to maintain the hotel facilities by practicing preventative maintenance and general repairs. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members, a 'can do" attitude, and the desire to learn and advance within the company.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenace Manager
- Familiarize and comply with the hotels mission and standards in performing maintenance activities.
- Prioritise, plan daily activites of Maintenance Department in cordination with the Mainteace Manager
- Assign tasks and supervise the maintenance department staff.
- Assisst the Maintenance Manger in the oversight of maintenance tasks, work orders and special projects ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Maintain the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel including physical. mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc. and equipment related to HVAC, DG Sets, Water treatment, Fire Safety etc.
- Assisst in keeping proper records relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel including repair and service records.
- Coach and train maintenance staff in proper use and periodic maintenance of all equipment
- Perform daily and weekly property document inspections.
- Ensure property, grounds, physical plant and work areas are maintained to standard and that all safety equipment are to code
- Provide training to staff on safety, supplies, inventory, maintenance and ordering procedures.
- Train engineering department staff on correct maintenance procedures and assists in repairs as needed.
- Assisst Department Manager in Maintaining, monitoring and testing hotel's emergency and security systems- ie. Fire Alarm
- Participate in development and implementation of emergency programs and conservation programs for the property
- Responsible for providing exceptional quest service and experience at the property
- Commitment to meeting/exceeding department financial goals, short and long term planning and efficient day-to-day operations.
- Ensures that all team members comply with company safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Provides information and training as required in accordance with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS), including use pf protective equipment.
What we are looking for...
- Technical experience in a recognized trade with understanding of building maintenance and operation. Previous experience in a fast-paced hotel environment would be considered an asset.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Flexibility in working any shift as required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays;
- Ability to work lead and inspire a team
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and operations - ie. chillers, boilers, water softeners, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical;
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, creative thinking, and decision-making skills;
- Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills;
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment-maintaining composure and objectivity with guests and team members;
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
