Technical Operator- Peeler

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Operator – Peeler to operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on peeling equipment while supporting and leading the Peeling Team. A hands-on, reliable, safety-focused team player with strong technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills who can drive production efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor peeling equipment to meet daily production targets of 10,000–12,000 kg.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report downtime to Maintenance.
• Perform daily/weekly preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Lead and coordinate the Peeling Team, including breaks, start-up meetings, and staffing.
• Train employees on equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Maintain production, quality, safety, and equipment standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and reduce downtime.
• Maintain records of equipment, tools, parts, and maintenance activities.
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Purchasing, and management teams.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience operating peeling machinery and forklifts.
• Valid Forklift License required.
• Technical/Millwright education is an asset.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to read work orders/instructions and perform basic calculations.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as required.
• Food, CPG, Foodservice, or Manufacturing experience is an asset.
