Grocery Assistant Manager

At La Rose Specialty Foods Inc. in Milton, ON (www.larosebakery.com), we have been servicing the Milton and surrounding areas for over 44 years with:

We are currently hiring for a long-term, full-time Grocery Assistant Manager position in our store with the option for future growth with the company. Rate of pay is $24.00 to $29.00/hour (dependent on experience).

A successful candidate must be high energy, detail-oriented, focused, respectful, mature, and honest.

• Working directly with Grocery Manager to maintain the department in its best form
• Maintaining inventory levels and placing orders with vendors
• Collaborating with Grocery Manager on features and promotions
• Stocking, merchandising, and organizing shelves with products delivered from suppliers
• Rotating stock and checking expiry dates
• Checking stock status by performing physical counts on shelves and back stock
• Organizing back stock as a support for the grocery, dairy, and deli departments
• Cleaning, dusting, and filling/facing shelves with products to sell
• Receiving deliveries from suppliers and verifying correct quantities
• Assisting with tagging prices and promotions approved by the Store Manager

• High energy, friendly, respectful, team player with customer service skills
• Experience in grocery/retail customer service industry is greatly beneficial
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and may enter the cold room several times during each shift
• Must be available 5 days a week for full-time work, including at least one day on the weekend every weekend
• Must be available for flexible shifts starting as early as 7 a.m. and ending as late as 7 p.m. on weekdays, and as late as 5 p.m. on weekends
• Available to work on weekends and around holidays, as scheduled, and able to start earlier for shifts in advance of Christmas and Easter
• Willing to learn how to use a forklift and pumpjack (prior experience with machinery is appreciated but not necessary)
• Takes interest in learning about domestic and imported specialty products
• Completion of an online Health and Safety course before the start date (link to the course will be sent to the successful candidate upon hire)
