Fleet Maintenance & Warehouse Technician Edmonton Depot

Burly Boyz Moving & Storage | Edmonton, AB | Full-time, Permanent, On-site

Wage: $26$30/hour, based on experience Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM Benefits: Available after 3 months

About the role

Right now, every little thing that goes wrong with our trucks down to a burnt-out light leaves the yard and goes to an outside mechanic. That's slow, and it's expensive. We're hiring someone at our Calgary depot to change that.

You'll keep our fleet running through the demands of an Alberta winter, handle routine maintenance and small fixes in house instead of sending them out, and take ownership of our warehouse and customer storage area. It's a hands-on, own-your-day kind of role for someone who takes pride in a job done right and a truck that starts every morning.

This isn't a mechanic position certified repairs, brake work, and inspections stay with our external shop. This role is about the everyday work that keeps a fleet reliable: preventive maintenance, minor defect correction, and a warehouse that runs like clockwork.

What you'll do
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (A-Service) on our Calgary fleet fluids, filters, lighting, tires, and more following a defined checklist and standard.
  • Fix minor issues drivers flag on their pre-trip inspections bulbs, wipers, fuses, filters, fluid top-ups so small stuff never turns into a shop visit.
  • Keep the fleet winter-ready: block heaters, batteries, air systems, and making sure every truck starts when a crew needs it.
  • Move units around the yard, shuttle trucks to and from the shop, and pick up and return rental equipment.
  • Run the warehouse floor operate the forklift (training provided), receive and release customer storage items, and keep inventory accurate and organized.
  • Keep the depot, dock, and yard clean, safe, and ready to work in through every season.
What you'll need
  • A valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Real hands-on experience with preventive maintenance on trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment.
  • Comfort following a written checklist and service manual exactly this role is judged on the quality of its records as much as the work itself.
  • Enough comfort with computers to learn our fleet management software and log accurate records.
  • The ability to work independently, juggle fleet and warehouse priorities, and stay disciplined about what's in scope and what gets handed to the shop.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.

No forklift ticket? No problem. You'll need to get certified within 30 days of hire we arrange and pay for the training.

Nice to have
  • Background in logistics, freight, transportation, or heavy equipment.
  • Experience with Samsara or a similar fleet management platform.
  • An existing forklift certification or Air Brake (Q) endorsement.
  • Warehouse or inventory experience, especially with fragile or high-value goods.
  • Experience keeping equipment running through Alberta winters.
The physical side

This is an active role expect to lift up to about 50 lbs regularly (team-lifting heavier items), be on your feet and moving all day, work in and around vehicles, and spend time outdoors in all weather, including winter. PPE is provided.

Why Burly Boyz

We're building the in-house capability to keep our own fleet running instead of relying on outside shops for every small thing. That means more ownership, more variety, and a bigger impact for the person in this seat you'll see the direct result of your work every day, in trucks that start on time and a warehouse that runs right.
