Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage water resources engineering projects, with a focus on hydroelectric projects, from concept to completion.
- Conduct feasibility studies and hydrological assessments to evaluate the potential of new hydroelectric sites.
- Perform hydrological and hydraulic modeling to optimize water resource utilization and project design.
- Design and develop engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water infrastructure and hydroelectric facilities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geotechnical engineers, environmental specialists, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulations.
- Conduct site inspections, monitoring, and data collection to assess project performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to water resources engineering and hydroelectric power generation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in water resources engineering, specifically with a focus on hydroelectric projects.
- Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and water resource management principles.
- Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM).
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting processes related to water resources projects.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make sound engineering decisions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred.
