General Labourer - Maintenance Project

We are seeking reliable and hardworking individuals with experience in general labour, maintenance, and painting to support dorm room turnover for a university property. Successful candidates will be comfortable with patching, painting, and basic repairs in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Location: Downtown Toronto – Gerrard St E & Jarvis St
Shifts: Day Shift Only, 8:00am–4:00pm (Mon–Fri)
Pay: $22.00+ per hour + 4% vacation pay
Start Date: ASAP — Approx. 2–3 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Key Responsibilities

• Patch and paint walls to restore surfaces to base condition
• Replace light bulbs and ensure lighting fixtures are working properly
• Replace basic HVAC filters as required
• Apply caulking to tubs and other fixtures as needed
• Assist with general maintenance tasks throughout dormitory units
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Follow all health and safety procedures on site
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns
• Support team members to ensure project timelines are met

Requirements

• Previous experience in general labour or maintenance roles
• Basic knowledge of painting, patching, and minor repairs
• Ability to safely use hand tools and basic equipment
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
• Good communication skills (English – verbal)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
